The annual SDSU Lamb Bonanza was held January 8, 2011 at Frost Arena in Brookings, SD in conjunction with the SDSU Jackrabbits Women's & Men's Basketball. Free lamb sandwiches were served prior to the women's game and 6 lamb pelts auctioned during half-time of the men's game.  Proceeds from the pelt auction are used for undergraduate scholarships programs in the Animal and Range Sciences and Athletic Departments at SDSU.   This year SDSU hosted Oral Roberts.

Lynn Perry, SDSGA Promotion Co-chair holds up one of the lamb pelts for the auction.  Blue and yellow dyed pelts with "SDSU" or "Jacks" or the famous SDSU "rabbit" are auctioned each year at the event.

SD SheepGrowers serve lamb burgers at Sioux Falls Regional Stockyards for Open House

Pictured above (left to right) are Patty DeZeeuw, Lynn Perry, Austin Held, Jeff Held, Jim Hanson and Rufus DeZeeuw.  SDSGA members grilled over 300 lamb burger for the first annual Sioux Falls Regional Livestock replacement ewe sale.  Burgers, pop and all the fixin's were provided courtesy of the stockyards, and served by SDSGA members.  Not pictured (because she was inside serving!) is Dianne Perry, co-chair of the SDSGA Promotion committee with her husband Lynn.

Pictured below are (left to right): Jim Hanson, Austin Held, Jeff Held, and Rufus DeZeeuw -- just getting the burgers started.  Being able to utilize the SDSU Meat Science "mobile grill" made the quantity & quality cooking possible.
