Q: How can I be certain my fabrics/yarn are wool?

8:00 am     Registration - First Lutheran Church [muffins & fruit, coffee & juice will be provided]

9:00 am     Pre-teen judging

9:20 am     Junior Judging

9:40 am     Senior Judging

      ** There will be a photography session and style show practice for contestants in each

           category immediately following the judging for each division  **

10:00 am   Quilt, Afghan, & Novelty Judging - (2nd team of judges)

10:10 am   Adult Judging

10:30 am   Professional Judging

10:50 am   Made for Others Judging

11:10 am   Accessory & Recycled Wool Judging

11:30 am   Challenge Judging 

11:30 am   Style Show practice -- all contestants

Noon          Lunch - Mission Coffeehouse

1:00 pm - 4:00 pm    Workshop - Needle-felting With Wool 

                   Workshop is open to the public -- cost $10/person.  Participants will each be provided a needle-felting kit which includes instructions, needle-felting tool, wool background fabric, wool roving, and a foam working block.  The workshop is designed for ages 8 and up. Participants under 8 years old are welcome if they have an adult helper (needles are very sharp and brittle, and requires focus to be used safely).  The workshop is limited to 30 participants, and will be led by the Brookings Fiber Arts Guild members.  

                 Special needle-felting kits containing a stuffed bunny and bunny "outfit" will be available for purchase ($15 each) to continue skills learned on a home project.  This kit will have wool roving & embellishments included to needle-felt decorative designs on the one-of-a-kind outfits to create your own personalized SDSU Signature Wool bunny.  All proceeds from the Bunny kits will go to support the SDSU Signature Wool Project scholarship.


5:00 pm    SDSGA Social & Auction - Days Inn Convention Center

7:00 pm    Awards Banquet - Contestants will need to come dressed in their contest outfits. There will be a style show at the banquet, and each division will be called up on stage individually for awards and pictures. Shepherd's Award and Trapper of the Year will follow the MIWW awards.
